Famed Panama Resort Joins Luxury Network

The Gamboa Rainforest Reserve, the iconic resort 30 minutes from downtown Panama City, has joined Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the international network of luxury properties.

The Gamboa is the first resort in Panama to join the network, the “world’s largest independent luxury hotel brand,” representing more than 600 unique hotels, resorts, residences, and hotel groups in 80 countries. Gamboa will be part of the Lifestyle Collection, which features properties that offer “memorable stays and authentic, welcoming service, reflecting local culture.

“The addition of Gamboa Rainforest Reserve to Preferred Hotels & Resorts strengthens our commitment to offering authentic experiences and the highest level of hospitality,” said Herman Bern Jr., President of Bern Hotels & Resorts. “Now, with the support of this prestigious independent hotel brand, our guests will enjoy unparalleled service in a unique natural environment.”

The Gamboa is one of those cool destinations that make Panama a wonderful and diverse place to explore. Located in a lush rainforest overlooking the Panama Canal, the 166-room hotel offers a unique opportunity to explore nature, including a cable car to the forest canopy, a sloth sanctuary and forest hiking trails.

The Preferred Network is a free program that offers members points and benefits at member hotels. Preferred specifically looks for quality hotels that have “their own personality, that are not so standardized,” said Antonio Vera, regional director of Preferred Hotels & Resorts for Mexico and Central America.

“What better than entering Panama with a hotel like Gamboa Rainforest Reserve,” Vera said. “Through us, we will give Gamboa visibility and exposure globally and look for passengers from all over the world so that they come to visit this wonderful place.”
