Tocumen Debuts New Domestic Link

Tocumen International Airport has made it easier to connect with a domestic flight. Passengers on local flights now can board and arrive in an enclosed area of Terminal 2, without being exposed to the elements.

In the past, domestic passengers need to take a bus to and from their planes.

The new domestic flight area is near gate 225 and includes a designated area for passengers to check in for flights. Arriving passengers will be able to collect their luggage on the first floor of the terminal without going through immigration.

This is especially good news for people who regularly travel to David. Copa operates two daily flights between Tocumen to the northern city. And it hoes to expand the number of flights.

“This is important because the flight to David is a display of what Panama is and it is key to provide good service to attract more tourists,” Jaime Álvarez, senior director of cargo and courier at Copa Airlines, told reporters.

La Prensa made a video with Alvarez discussing the new gate. The interview is in Spanish, but the video will give you an idea of the space.
